Using an external hdd as an internal hdd?

I have a wd hdd I think it's this one

Would it be possible to break the case and use the hdd inside as hdd in my comp?
Theoretically there should be in a regular hdd right? And what about the connectors?

Yes, and should be SATA.

 

Well, mine is, but it's a little bit newer (with the blue led).

 

No need to break it. It's a little hard to disassemble, but you can put it back together.

I have done this before. I hated the external because the fan was too loud.
