I used one of their hotspot devices, decided it wasn't for me, so I canceled my account, and sent the device back to them. Now, a month since I ordered it, a collection agency is asking for $30.22 I call up T-Mobile about this, they told me that I owe $329, I'm like, why? They said it was a termination fee (they are non-contract), and to pay in full the device (I sent it back to them). So throughout 5 different people, I got it wiped clean. Just, WTF?! If you don't want to pay for the termination fee then don't. It will go to collections and you will get phone calls for it. In time they will stop and don't go any farther about it. With T-Mobile, you have a 14 day Buyer's Remorse period. If you returned the device within this timeframe, you're fine. But, you said, "...maybe 2 weeks later." So, there's a possibility you were outside of the Buyer's Remorse period, thus took on full responsibility for the device. If you ordered via phone or internet, you have 20 days instead of 14. Source: I work for T-Mobile. But, here's the requisite information. To receive a refund or to exchange a device (less any discounts or rebates), or to cancel your service without incurring an early termination fee (for service contracts of 1 year or more), return your Device in its original package with all original contents undamaged and in good working condition with no material alterations to the Device?s hardware or software to any T-Mobile retail store within 14 days of the purchase date of the original device. If you work for T-Mobile, explain to me what non-contract means. All your phones and hotspot devices are non-contract. Right from your website: Unlimited Tablet or Hotspot data plans ? choose the amount of 4G LTE data you want to add. All plans include no domestic overages, no annual service contracts, and unlimited music streaming that doesn?t count against your 4G LTE data on services like Pandora, iHeartRadio, and more.
