ultimate99
I currently have this one: http://www.caselogic.com/en-us/us/products/laptop-cases/laptop-backpacks/14-laptop-backpack-_-dlbp_-_114_-_black Very good bag, however I'm looking for one that's more spacious, preferably with a removable laptop padding. I travel often, but won't have my laptop with me, mostly only my Dell Venue 8 Pro. I'd still like it to be in the 14" range, bigger than that will be bulky/ugly. Suggestions? Unksi
I have used this for over a year now: http://www.goruck.com/en/gr1 Definately the best ruck I have used so far. They do have smaller models (Echo / GR0), if GR1 is too large for your preference. Draconian Guppy 1 Share
T3X4S
I also have an Everki Beacon- seems to be made very well, & mine even came with a removeable padded game console enclosure (I threw it away)But they have many models, and all seem to be nice.I always used to want an Alien Orion Backback, but they only come for 17" laptops & I wanted something slightly smaller.I used to have the Alienware Messenger bag - it was OKIf you change your mind & want something larger ... The Oakley Kitchen Sink - its large...Everki Beacon goretsky 1 Share

goretsky Supervisor Posted August 18, 2014 Supervisor Share Posted August 18, 2014 Hello, I have a Tumi Alpha T-Pass Business Class Brief Pack, which is no longer sold by Tumi, but still readily available. I got it at a discount as a replacement for my prior Tumi backpack, which they judged as "damaged beyond repair," but would probably not get another Tumi, since they no longer offer a lifetime warranty. I wrote a review of it on this mailing list. Backpacks are very subjective, so a lot depends upon your budget, style you like, etc. Personally, I like having one with a TSA-approved laptop compartment to speed things up, but that might not be an issue for you if you don't fly a lot. Mindovermaster Moderator Posted August 18, 2014 Moderator Share Posted August 18, 2014 You look at Slappa? I don't have any of their backpacks, put I do have one of their DVD Storage containers. goretsky 1 Share
FrostAM
I currently use the Cocoon Slim: http://www.cocooninnovations.com/cat_info.php?cat_id=68 It fits my 15" Macbook with a case and my iPad comfortably and it looks nice/professional. It's also water resistant, so you shouldn't have to worry too much if you get caught in the rain with it. One of the major selling points of it is the odd bungee cord compartment. The front compartment has rubberized, elastic cords inside it that hold all of your knickknacks (Pens, chargers, usb drives, cables, etc). It's pretty nifty. goretsky 1 Share

Chemaz
swissgear/wenger backpacks are great and a decent price, the larger ones (still reasonable size) let you fit so much stuff in them and they are built to last I got this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000VOC90Y/ref=pe_385721_51767431_TE_dp_1 its one of their larger ones but is great

ultimate99
Check out any offerings from http://www.stmbags.com.au/ Thank you all for the great suggestions! I like the stm drifter, looks what exactly i need, everything + big space to fit shoes/lunch, but unfortunately can't find it canada. Oh ya, $50-60 would be the sweet spot in terms of budget. :D

+John Teacake MVC Posted August 19, 2014 MVC Share Posted August 19, 2014 I think STM are not a very well known brand are the underdogs. They produce some fantastic stuff but they are quite hard to get hold of certainly in the UK anyway.

ultimate99
Wow that thing is huge, could live a month out of it I really don't know how big is it. From the description and pictures I thought it was a good size. But if obscurely big, then there's a problem.. :/

ultimate99
Ok, received the bag. First impressions, IT SUCKS!! I don't know how I missed basic features: like no second side pocket, no place for coins/change, the small compartments aren't many as I imagined/saw. A lot are opened with no zippers, no "secret" or hidden pockets. Of course, as expected, it's a very casual looking bad, unlike my current case logic, looks, nice solid black! This bag will be returned.
