blizeH
Hi,I've just purchased a Micro ATX computer and am looking to put a different graphics card into it. I'm mostly going to be using this for Netflix streaming etc as it's going to sit under the TV, but I'd also like to have the option of playing games in the living room too.Can anyone please recommend the best value low profile card that will fit? I've been looking at the 750 (?80) or the 750 Ti (?115) with the latter unfortunately being slightly out of budget, but I'm willing to stretch if it's really worth the extra.Should I be looking at and considering AMD cards too?Any advice or suggestions would be very welcome, thank you! Brandon H Supervisor Posted August 19, 2014 Supervisor Share Posted August 19, 2014 that 750ti by KFA is really the best you're gonna get (I have the Galaxy US version in my low profile tower and it's rather good) as far as others/amd there's not too much else available. i had a thread here a couple months ago https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1207391-looking-for-worthwile-low-profile-graphics-card/ check it out it could help blizeH and gohpep 2 Share
blizeH
Thanks! Like I said it's a bit more than I wanted to spend, but maybe in this case it's worth paying the extra.
Brandon H Supervisor Posted August 19, 2014 Supervisor Share Posted August 19, 2014 Thanks! Like I said it's a bit more than I wanted to spend, but maybe in this case it's worth paying the extra. for the quality & performance of the card I'd say yes. heck save up for another month or 2 if you really feel you can't quite afford it yet. better wait a little longer and spend more then be disappointed with a lower model IMHO blizeH 1 Share
blizeH
Thank you :) Possibly a silly question, but since this is smaller, half the price, and uses less power, is the 740 worth considering too? http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-zotac-gt-740-28nm-1782mhz-gddr3-gpu-993mhz-384-cores-d-sub-dvi-d-hdmi-low-profile-compatible Thanks again

blizeH
That is perfect, thanks :D I've just ordered the 750 Ti, a low profile bracket, and an extra 4GB of the Kingston value RAM (same as what's already in there) for a total of ~?140 which isn't too bad, that means for under ?380 I've got a new small factor PC with i3, 8GB RAM, Windows 8.1 and a GeForce 750 Ti... pretty happy with that :D Thanks again!!! (edit) Yowzers! It's amazing how much better this card is than the 6750 I have in my desktop PC (first gen i7 with 16GB RAM and 6750 graphics) Brandon H 1 Share
