Mindovermaster Moderator Posted August 22, 2014 Moderator Share Posted August 22, 2014 I wrote this in here because it's more Linux software driven than hardware help. I have one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16856102050 I put a Mushkin 30GB and 4GB DDR3. I am running Crunchbang. Just as headless server, using SSH. Recently, I have ran this as a Minecraft Server. For a few friends, but their all gone, or moved on to other games. So I need a new life for this. I have a Roku, so streaming video/music is not a need for me. I don't really need a router or firewall, either. Any pointers, gents? :)
Max Norris
The nerd side of me would probably make an Apache, Python and Ruby playground out of it, slap on a JetBrains IDE on my desktop and make use of the remote interpreters, toss the thing in a closet somewhere. The gamer side of me would put on a couple classic console emulators and make a console out of the thing as a larf, since it has HDMI and all. Assuming the GPU is up to snuff of course. Mindovermaster Moderator Posted August 22, 2014 Author Moderator Share Posted August 22, 2014 The GPU is a Intel 4000, so I ain't playing anything I throw at it in Ultimate mode, or anything.

I honestly have no idea, I only have one system here with an Intel GPU.. pretty old, barely does Aero but would think it would be capable of something like an old console emulator though.. SNES, Genesis, that sort of thing, nothing fancy, definitely nothing 3D. *Shrug* can't comment from experience. I'm kind of in the same boat with a few systems here.. no place to put them and want to do something with it. How about hooking it up to the TV for web browsing when you're just too damn lazy to get up and grab a tablet.
