There are some things that have been added too, not just design wise. Check out galleries or image/gif embed in comments.

This shows the gallery well:

Yep -- with a couple of tweaks.  That main header bar is a bit on the large size, smush it down a tick.  Site needs a fluid-width option like it used to have.  The "More" menu is missing the Spy option which used to be there.  The comments allow animated GIF's?  Oh no possible way that'll be abused. /s  Otherwise, pretty spiffy and looks great on all screen sizes.  Can't wait to see it carry over into the forums.

Yes, I like it, despite my personal preference of news items being listed one beneath the other instead of the pinterest style squares/rectangles (ironically, on smaller screens it defaults to the list view). It's fine, and it'll take some time getting used to, but in a couple of weeks I probably won't remember the old design.

Needs tweaks,

1. Slide in top menu annoying

2. Gradients are annoying

3. Top Part (Manu and Images) are too big

4. Needless zoom in effect when hovering over the top part images

One or two weeks ago worked bad on Surface, will need to retest that.

I would also prefer List View as standard. Especially for non members as default view. It is just cleaner, more organized and gives the site better credibility.

Also top images. More confined please.

I think it looks nice as it is on high-res displays, but on lower-res displays it looks too big and too empty.

I'm actually a webprogramer (with years knowledge in webdesign) and I think it would need some visual tweaks in or between the elements. I mean it needs some (small/tiny) darker elements. Maybe darker fonts to the section titles, or some borders (but just a few) or different background for the news and for the right sidebar. Or anything that would stick out from the white-lightgray design.

Unless you switch to the darkside (hehe...), the top bar colour does not match to the rest of the site

it just does not feel congruent.

older site might have felt dated, but the structure was very good, and practical.  especially in comparison to this new look.

You can use list view option which the images will be smaller.

Doesn't fix the header at the top.

My biggest gripe is Neowin now looks like every other tech related site out there..  Again, I'll probably get used to it, just going to take some time.

1.  Slide in top menu prevents you from having to scroll completely to the top to navigate

2. It is a preference, but could you read the titles without the gradients?

3. I think the images are perfect on top, you are just used to the old site with tiny low-res images. That's another thing, most images are now HD

4.I think either the grey-out OR the zoom should be used, just not both

On my Surface Timan fixed a ton of the touch menu issues. There is one issue where REVIEWS does not get highlighted at the top when you are on the reviews page. However, the first tap opens the menu, the second navigates the link.

Please, no borders. that does not fit the Modern UI design.

Looks fine on the desktop..

Mobile version, the site has the header problem which has the logo cut off, the social buttons are missing.

I do, it looks modern with vibrant colors, very easy to read, and it doesn't look so crowded, the old design was really getting old, plus I'm sure it will improve over the upcoming months as things are tweaked here and there.

The "facebook like" notifications are gone  from the frontpage.

I think it's an important element, that is an incentive for participation.

I have to agree on that.

I meant only one-sided border, not a full border on all sides. But yeah borders not very "modern".

I'm looking the new design again and again and I would like it much-much better if these lines (fonts and comment icon) would be the same blue as the top bar:
