That plane went down about 7-10 minutes from where I currently live. We've been having a lot of increased activity from those jets in the past couple months and they always seem to go by very low and very fast over the house, so its always been a fear of mine that one would go down around here.

I was at work when it happened, but people who live farther than me from the crash site said they felt the ground shake around the time the plane went down. A lot of us were hoping the Pilot made it, but I was sure that he didn't when they hadn't found him by the first night. Sad to see my suspicions became true. It will be interesting to hear what the cause of the crash was.

He declared an in flight emergence between 30k-40k feet so he wasn't flying low. Could be anything from a mechanical failure to an engine swallowing geese.
