chrisj1968 Posted September 3, 2014 Share Posted September 3, 2014 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16828113545 ($99.99 at the time of this writing) Brother HL-2270DW Workgroup Up to 27 ppm Monochrome Wireless Laser Printer with Duplex setup software main menu this printer automatically sets itself up to work with the Windows firewall by changing the ports automatically, which eases the setup of the wifi system it is necessary to have a usb 2.0 cable laying around to allow for installation and wireless setup. you can decide how you want your printer setup; to one system via USB, wired work group on ether net or wireless for multiple users. ** Note, my printer installed simply by allowing the software install to automatically or you can choose to install by custom settings. in the end, the installation, a dialog box opens up and your printer should show in the box when it searches for the printer on your network. select your printer and finish the install. then adding new computers, laptops or tablets is simple as using the CD or on a tablet like my daughters surface RT, the software is already included and simply go to "add a printer" and near the end of the installation, the same dialog box that should show the brother printer on the network, simply select it, and press continue or complete. this printer has an insanely small footprint which is great for a home where you don't want a bulky printer and if you have roommates, they too can be added to run the printer. all you really have to contend with and this was no real con was, the fan winding up when a document is sent to the printer. some might find this bothersome but it isn't really a loud one like some printers I've dealt with. I highly recommend this printer for simple monochrome printing needs, high capacity printing cartridges such as: Rosewill RTCS-TN450 High Yield Black Toner Replaces Brother TN-450 TN450 TN-420 TN420 which replaces the brother cartridges and are high yield of around 2,600 pages, the URL is : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16828228558 I immediately purchased one for backup when the cartridge that came preinstalled in the printer runs out. for home small office use, this printer is by far easier than the lexmark 705 series I tried to install months ago. 4/5 stars.
