anarchy99
I'm looking for a external bluray burner. preferably i'd like it to be a slim drive since il be using it with my laptop primarily and i want it to power stictly off USB if possible. Im also curious I've seen a few (pioneer and buffalo come to mind) that are USB 3.0 does that actually matter for a bluray drive? would there actually be a performance increase over one that was USB 2.0?any comments or suggestions about one are welcome thanks
Mindovermaster Moderator Posted September 3, 2014 Moderator Share Posted September 3, 2014 Well, faster transfer rates between USB2 and 3, but just for watching movies, I don't think you will see much difference. As per brand, I'd prefer ASUS or LG. But that's me.
goretsky Supervisor Posted September 4, 2014 Supervisor Share Posted September 4, 2014 Hello, I have been using a Matsush?ta UJ-240 (I think--left it at work) BD-RE drive in a USB 3.0 enclosure, both of which I purchased from eBay. To date, I have not done any burning, but play Blu-ray movies works fine. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
Shiranui
I bought one about 6 months ago. Haven't taken it out of the box yet. Thought it might come in useful; been struggling to find a use for it. Maybe I'll burn all the family photos onto one and send it to my parents as a backup.
