mediator
Hi, I have bought sony experia ultra T2. But it keeps disconnecting Wifi. I have many devices working over Wifi. But this one is creating some problem and shows 'authentication problem' after it connects for some time. I even surfed the internet once! I have changed WPA to WPA2 PSK, changed to another router, upgraded the OS from Android 4.3 to 4.4. But the problem remains. Any clues? I have followed this => http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/Wi-Fi-problems/m-p/348104#U348104 But it doesn't help. Thanx.
Hum
Does it happen on a public wifi ? [such as a McDonald's] Maybe your router needs a firmware update.
mediator
I haven't checked this on a public wifi. I have changed the router though and problem persists. But all my other phones, laptops are working fine. The firmware is already up-to-date..
Hum
Maybe try it on an Open Guest wifi channel, as well as a public wifi connection. There may be settings on your router needed to allow the phone to work, long term. Possible help here: Settings, Apps, All, Clear data in google services framework and restart. Before all of this forgrt the network and when it loads back up reput wifi password and wala http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/45501-43-wifi-authentication-problem I have done that by doing simple steps, may be it helps you too..>> turn off WiFi>>Switch Airplane Mode on>>now reconnect WiFi>>and you will see it connected normally..Here you go., Don't forget to off Airplane Mode :)
mediator
Yes, this works on the open unsecured wifi. Thanx. But now how should I secure this?
Hum
^ Add a simple password to Guest network, I suppose. See my updated post above.
mediator
My router doesn't have that option to add password to guest network. But I'm trying to figure upon the security of the original network with this phone.
mediator
Anyways I got it solved. I set it to PSK2, cleared the earlier Wifi-host with the 'forget' option and reconnected it from scratch. It worked! :) Hum 1 Share
