4.7 is still a reasonable size, anything over 5 is too large for me, but it's the growing trend so we'll be stuck with it.

I have the same opinion and that will be the reason why the iPhone6 will sell.

Apple have made a good decision by releasing the phone with two sizes, I'm sure they're audience will be split between wanting a larger phone and a regular sized phone.

By releasing two sizes, they'll ensure they don't exclude either group.

I'm severely tempted by the iPhone 6. The screen size is what makes me consider it - up until the iPhone 5S I considered the screen too small. The 4.7" model hits the spot. And of course you get the advantages of iOS and its ecosystem.

I have a feeling that both iPhone 6 models will be very successful, and persuade a lot of users of other smartphone OSs to switch.

I'll be getting the iPhone 6 as a replacement for my ageing 4, the Plus is a little more than I want to pay. Have to many purchased apps to look at any other phone. Shame the 6 doesn't have the sapphire screen.

The screen size is perfect, 4.7" is in the sweet spot in my opinion and the 5.5" helps accommodate those who prefer even larger screens. My issues with the iPhone 6 are the fact that such a premium phone looks so damn cheap and tacky to me. Most of the previous iPhones had a sense of elegance to them (with exception of the 5C) and and you knew just by looking at them they were a premium product. I know that is purely opinion and I'm sure many feel the 6 if the best looking iPhone yet but in my own opinion is just isn't. The other issue is iOS; it's a good OS, does the job and millions love it. I just don't like the little customisation it offers and I'm not hating on it just because. While not a phone, I upgraded from an Android tablet to an iPad mini, I don't regret it and the tablet is great but one thing I really miss from my Android tablet is being able to customize the OS and the greater control it gave me. Apple is certainly going on the right track with iOS 8 but I think greater customisation is going to be their next biggest challenge to keep users with them. They can't keep that grid of icons forever, eventually even the diehards will get sick of it. Well that is my 2 cents, take with a grain of salt.

Ordered my 6 16GB, had to use Chrome. IE didn't seem to want to update for me.

While everyone's entitled to their own opinion, what exactly is premium about the 4.7" device other than the price?

If I can get someone to buy my 5S i'll grab a 6 Plus, just to stay up to date, but it's a disappointing device.

The first few words make your question kinda of pointless. What makes the device premium for someone else, may mean nothing to you.

Some people may be willing to pay a more for the apps they have and know, for convenience  for any number of reason.

Personally, I think it's asinine to upgrade every single year. And part of me thinks that's part of the thinking behind Apple's upgrade schedule. They do more major updates every 2 years, and the annual updates are incremental in terms of aesthetics and obvious features.

I have an iPhone 5, and I am seriously considering the iPhone 6 range. iPhone 6 Plus is tempting, but I don't need to terribly much in my phone. I can survive on an iPhone 6, but I want to get my mitts on the demos in person before making my decision.

Yup, as i've said before.  "s"  incremental stands for apple telling us if you are smart enough  skip this product  (3Gs, 4s, 5s).

I'd like to hope the majority of people dont upgrade every year... but every other year.  I cant see most people shelling out the full price for a phone $650.. if you have the 5 then you should be due for an upgrade from your current provider (and pay the nice price of $0 if you have a carrier that is offering the $200 trade in).  I have the 5s so im stuck until next year

Funny because I owned a 3Gs, 4S and 5s. Personally I'd much rather wait, look at the 4 vs 4S only one of them runs iOS8. Looking at the iPhone 6 it's pretty obvious the 6+ will get more memory next time and maybe even a proper display at 1242?2208 instead of the silly 1080p downscaling they're doing right now

I think it's only a skip if you own the non s version of the product.

I'm still on two minds whether or not I upgrade, looking to threads like this to try and find an answer either way. My flat mate is picking his up at the weekend so playing around with his phone should help in that decision.

I picked up an iPhone 6 (space grey, 64 GB) on Friday. And I must say, I'm really happy with it. The hardware is top notch; battery life seems good so far. Switching from Android to iOS isn't too bad.

My biggest pet peeve so far? The many apps which have yet to be optimised for the iPhone 6 screen resolution (Facebook and WhatsApp come to mind). The zoomed mode looks kind of odd. That's only a temporary issue though.

First weekend with my iPhone 6 and i'm very happy with it, it's better in every way and whilst the size is great i just can't seem to get used to it, the phone is quite slippy in the hand and is hard to hold in one hand and be able to navigate my thumb around the entire screen, it needs 2 hands in most situations which sucks, i really don't know how people are using the 6+ as a phone.. i'm hoping my experience changes with a case.

I like to fall asleep reading the news apps usually laid on my side with my phone in one hand, i've been finding this very uncomfortable and nearly dropped it several times.

Played around with the 6+ today and it wasn't as big as I was expecting. It's only marginally larger than my Nexus 5, which I got about six months ago, and it appears to fit alright in my pocket. Since I bought my Nexus 5 and I was never quite sold on Android, I think I'm gonna get the 6+ (silver, 128 GB) with my next paycheck. As for the Nexus 5, I'll probably keep it around as a Wi-Fi only device, especially since I still want to run the final release of L on it.

Thinking about getting the leather case, but now I'm hearing all these horror stories about it bending in people's pockets. So maybe I'll go for a holster and no case...

Has anyone been having their orders delayed lately?

I just ordered The 6 Plus, Tmobile unlocked (alot of reports show its Unlocked GMS, not really even related to TMobile) 128gb, and it says

Available to ship: 3 - 4 weeks Delivers: Oct 28 - Nov 4 by Standard Shipping

Which i hope is true. Many people who ordered from ATT and Tmobile directly have estimated dates around Thanksgiving time. Maybe this unlocked version is different and they have more in stock due to the large upfront fee?

I used the special financing apple provides for the first time. So, I'll have a year to pay this off, which will still be much cheaper than signing a 2 year contract.
