None Smart TV ----> IP Camera

Recommended Posts

Yeah that was the answer I wasn't I wanted to hear haha!

even smart TVs I don't think you can directly plug in an external camera (unless it's provided by the company w/ a special driver [i've mostly seen this done with external wifi sticks]). what are you trying to do with it?

Why can't you pipe the camera to a computer and then your computer to a wireless hdmi device?

usb connector wireless http://www.iogear.com/product/GUWAVKIT4B/

wifi (no dongle, just need to be either wifi or on the network with the device...we have the 720 version at work and is flawless) http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1009883-REG/qvs_vw_4phs_vga_hdmi_wireless_presentation_system.html

That the next thing we need to find an IP Camera. A laptop wouldnt be ideal as its too much of a faf on, Wires etc, Its in a public(ish) place. I am thinking Chromecasts to stream it from a chrome browser.

Edit - We need to pick it up from a shop its kind of an overnight job ha!

There are many ways to do that...

If you have smart dvd player such as blu-ray player... that they have skype/netflix, etc... you can hook it up via USB into the player...

Otherwise since you don't have smartTV, you can hook your PC to the TV as others stated.

Or you can use your laptop to be hooked up to your TV via HDMI or VGA whichever is available  and use your built-in camera..

Even iPad works...  all you do is mirror the screen onto the TV and dock your iPad on the TV table..
