micro SD card for Galaxy note

Recommended Posts

How fast can Galaxy notes and other smartphones generally read/write to micro SD cards?

I am about to buy a 64GB card and the price difference is significant between different speed ratings. Don't want to pay for something that doesn't really matter.

thanks in advanced.

Just a heads up, not sure if the Note is different, but with my S4, I tried a non Samsung card from a pretty reputable brand, SanDisk and had nothing but issues. It never stayed mounted. I then tried a Kingston. Same deal. Always unmounted itself.

It was not until I purchased a Samsung card that it worked no issues.

I Googled the issue and there were apparently a whole, whole lot of people that had the same exact experience.

So while your experience may not be the same, although the Samsung card was initially more, I would have definitely saved money if I just purchased it first.

In regards to your question, the write speeds and class are definitely relevant. The faster the better basically.

I remember reading about this, I think it had something to do with the class of the card. There was a list of compatible brands and models posted samsung website, I ended up getting a sandisk 32gb, no issues yet.(well besides the fact that on kitkat, if an app does not take ownership, It cannot write to the sd )
