capr
How fast can Galaxy notes and other smartphones generally read/write to micro SD cards? I am about to buy a 64GB card and the price difference is significant between different speed ratings. Don't want to pay for something that doesn't really matter. thanks in advanced. DirtyLarry Veteran Posted September 18, 2014 Veteran Share Posted September 18, 2014 Just a heads up, not sure if the Note is different, but with my S4, I tried a non Samsung card from a pretty reputable brand, SanDisk and had nothing but issues. It never stayed mounted. I then tried a Kingston. Same deal. Always unmounted itself. It was not until I purchased a Samsung card that it worked no issues. I Googled the issue and there were apparently a whole, whole lot of people that had the same exact experience. So while your experience may not be the same, although the Samsung card was initially more, I would have definitely saved money if I just purchased it first. In regards to your question, the write speeds and class are definitely relevant. The faster the better basically. capr 1 Share

I remember reading about this, I think it had something to do with the class of the card. There was a list of compatible brands and models posted samsung website, I ended up getting a sandisk 32gb, no issues yet.(well besides the fact that on kitkat, if an app does not take ownership, It cannot write to the sd )
