GJVC
I bought a Nexus last year, and I've always had a problem with it. After about 2 months of usage, the touchscreen becomes unresponsive and erratic. Swiping becomes impossible, tapping buttons works occasionally. I've tried sending in my nexus for repairs 2 times, but both times I got the response that they found nothing wrong with the phone. And indeed, as the phone was returned to me weeks later, the problem was always fixed, for a time... So it appears that every few months, the screen on my Nexus randomly stops working. The only (temporary) fix is to leave the phone off for at least a day or 2. I can't send in my Nexus again for repairs, because by the time it reaches the factory, the issue wouldn't be there. And it would take a few weeks before it occurs again... Has anyone seen this type of issue before on a phone?
Roger H. Veteran Posted September 23, 2014 Veteran Share Posted September 23, 2014 Are you using a custom ROM or normal stock? I would do a full wipe and flash the full stock firmware from Google. That will then give you a nice fresh base to start from with no or minimal amount of apps.
GJVC
I'm using the normal stock, have tried factory resetting it in the past, but never a complete wipe and re?nstall
techbeck
I'm using the normal stock, have tried factory resetting it in the past, but never a complete wipe and re?nstall They didnt wipe the phone when you sent it back? They normally do. Does it work better for a little when the phone is restarted? Or does it have issues from the start? Did you send it to Google for repair, or to the phone company? It doesn't work better when the phone is restarted, whenever the issue occurs it just cripples the phone no matter what I do. The only thing that fixes the problem is shutting the phone down for a long period of time. I bought it online, whenever I put it in for repairs, they deliver it to a certified LG repair company. guitmz
thats odd... you should try to restore to factory (full wipe).. maybe something is wrong with the software... or you can install a custom rom if you have root (multirom is also an option)
Depicus
Not related but I took a video of my Nexus 5 when I had an intermittent issue and when I spoke to support I sent them a link to the video so they could see the problem. They went for a replacement for me and sent one out and I then returned the original faulty one.

And no screen protector on it? May want to go the approach Depicus did and record the issue and send to them.
