MikeFu84
Care to elaborate? If the PC is on the disk will be active writing and reading to the disk even if you aren't interacting with it. Windows services and applications like OneDrive will refresh every now and then activating the drive. Only way to prevent drive use is to sleep/hibernate/shutdown. Has it ever blinked in the entire time you've owned the machine? I've never personally owned an Acer laptop but I notice from some of their manuals no all indicators have a blink description. Also, from Task Manager if you go to the "Performance" tab, does it show any HDD activity there? Example:

MikeFu84
I understand what you mean. The LED on the top left edge of the keyboard that traditionally will be off with no activity and blink with activity is on solid for yourself. The view of Task Manager you posted does not show all the possible hard drive activity, the Windows process sections is not visible. I asked about the HDD activity under performance to see if it's showing any activity the screenshot you've already posted does not display. There is a chance the indicator is just malfunctioning if Windows Performance is not showing the disk is active.

MikeFu84
Might sound odd but from some searching I've been doing on Acer laptops and a solid HDD indicator, people are reporting if they have an SD card in the card reader the light never goes out. You don't happen to have an SD card in the reader? I know Windows 7 used to allow Ready Boost from an SD card.
Lant
Might you need to update your BIOS or chipset drivers? It could be that outdated versions lead to the wrong LED to be turned on under the wrong circumstances.
