Arachno 1D
http://gizmodo.com/iphone-plus-owners-are-bending-their-phones-by-just-sit-1638115760 Uh oh: Some unconfirmed iPhone 6 Plus owners are reporting that their new handsets are getting bent when they leave them in their front pockets. You know, as you sometimes do with a phone. Per one enterprising new iPhone 6 Plus owner on the MacRumors forums: Yesterday, I left at 10am with the iPhone in my left FRONT pocket of my suit pants. I drove 4 hours to a wedding, which also involved a lot of sitting during dinner etc but also 2-3 hours of dancing. I left at 2am and went to bed, driving home 4 hours back. So in total, the 6 Plus was about 18 hours in my pocket while sitting mostly. As I lay it on the coffee table and sat down on the couch to relax from the drive (yes, sitting again ), I saw the reflection of the window in the iPhones slightly distorted. Now I lay it flat with the display side on the table, take a look. Maybe at 5.5" it is too thin?
Dot Matrix
You're sitting on it wrong. Try sitting on it another way. g33kb0y, The Evil Overlord, Nogib and 8 others 11 Share
DConnell Member Posted September 23, 2014 Member Share Posted September 23, 2014 It's a feature! Conforms to the contour of your leg for more comfortable carrying in your pocket. :woot: Or maybe the iPhlex is just overpriced junk.

DConnell Member Posted September 23, 2014 Member Share Posted September 23, 2014 Still crazy to me that people put expensive phones in their pockets. Where are we supposed to carry them? To & from work I use a backpack, but for everyday running around I have to store it somewhere, and I don't carry a purse.

It's a phone, a consumer item, why wouldn't I put it in my pocket ? screen is protected by invisible shield anyway. Praetor 1 Share
conna
You need to take it to the Apple store and let one of the Geniuses teach you how to properly place you phone in your pocket. It will be obvious to him what you are doing wrong. SionicIon 1 Share
blank
It's conforming to your body. One of the many intuitive comfortability features that's good the screen didn't crack. I mean on earlier versions of the iPhone.. the screen cracked if you looked at it wrong. i dropped my iphone 5 many times, mostly while cycling at 20+ mph on rocky and hard roads. Never even scratched, even when landing on the screen. this is my third iphone, never had the problem you describe. however my last android Motorola screen is shattered by being hit with a foam flip flop. HawkMan
Landing on the screen isthe best way to land, corner is the worst,or if you manage to hit a sharp edge on a long side. however I doubt it didn't scratch, most likely you have a ton of micro scratches you just don't notice them. DConnell Member Posted September 23, 2014 Member Share Posted September 23, 2014 I carry my phone on my belt in a holster... I don't put expensive items into my pockets. I used to use a holster years ago, but IMO that leaves the phone even more exposed. I'd rather have it in a pocket where it is secure.Harder for the phone to fall out of a deep pocket than a holster on my belt. Still that holster does look nice. Just not my preference. If you don't notice them, then they aren't an issue, or anything to be worried about. Certainly isn't easy "shatter" as the person i quoted stated. Dot Matrix
CONFIRMED: Just a few hours ago, we started hearing reports that iPhone 6 Plus owners have been noticing a slight bend to their phone after putting the device in their front pockets. And now, here's proof that?yep, this smartphone sure can bend. http://gizmodo.com/and-heres-a-guy-bending-his-iphone-6-plus-with-his-bare-1638267139?utm_campaign=socialflow_gizmodo_facebook&utm_source=gizmodo_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow

+LogicalApex MVC Posted September 23, 2014 MVC Share Posted September 23, 2014 I have yet to hear of a wide distribution of phones snapping as a result of being placed in pockets. Lets see... Most phones are plastic which has a natural amount of "flex" so no the phones wouldn't crack under slight bends in normal situations (although screens can, and do, crack as glass has less natural flex than plastic). This scenario wasn't the reason for my comment. My comment was simply regarding the video you posted. If you decide to use your hands to bend a phone as much as demonstrated the screens would be cracked on the vast majority, if not all.
