Dinggus
Can anyone recommend me a cross-cut paper shredder? I'm tired of spending $40 and they either jam or break. I shredder paperwork almost daily due to junk mail, so I'd like to get something that will last for years. I'm looking at the Staples Space Saver shredder, but also a Fellowes shredder. Marshall Veteran Posted September 24, 2014 Veteran Share Posted September 24, 2014 To get a quality shredder that is going to last, you need to shell out more than $40. I have the Staples SPL-TXC122A and it performs great. It sells for around $150, depending on where you buy it.
Dinggus
Obviously, I thought daily shredding wouldn't break a $40 machine. Does it jam? Do you use lubricating sheets?
Marshall Veteran Posted September 24, 2014 Veteran Share Posted September 24, 2014 Hasn't jammed once. I lubricate it occasionally with just a bottle of shredder oil.
Rohdekill
I've had a Royal crosscut paper shredder from Walmart for nearly 10 years. Only jammed once on me due to putting in more than the recommended sheets. The thing costs under $40.00. If you'd ask me to pay $150 for a paper shredder, I'd opt for a $2.00 lighter and burn it instead.
+John Teacake MVC Posted September 24, 2014 MVC Share Posted September 24, 2014 I was looking for a shredder, I dont have the open air now where I could just burn stuff. For stuff like this I just usually go to Amazon and look at the best buy on there. Cant go wrong for odds and sods like this. Why are you shredding junk mail though? Usually its reserved for Personal papers?....Bank statements and the like.........
