Hello
I was a happy owner of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and I sold it yesterday because it was too big for my palm
Now I would like to buy a new phone and I cannot decide which one.
I am between Galaxy S5 and Nexus 6 and I cannot make up my mind.
To be honest I'm tired of Samsung Phones, I started with Samsung Galaxy S and after I went with these in this order: S2, Core, Grand, Note 2, Note 3.

I'm really tired of Samsung, I hate Knox which voids your warranty if you install a custom rom or if you modify your system and of course  the Samsung Bloatware.

However the phones were masterpieces in terms of performance, the support of custom roms was magnificent and S5 would be good at these terms too.

I'm really excited with Nexus 6 because Nexus devices are known for their Clean Android experience, the instant updates and this Nexus 6 will be a high end phone.

I would like your suggestions and help me decide which phone should I buy.
Also please, if you have any other android phone to recommend, please do so, I would love to check it out

I was a Galaxy S2 owner and now I have a Nexus 5 (and happy with it  :) ). I really prefer the original android firmware over the Samsung customization. I think the motorola nexus'll be a great device so I strongly suggest you to wait. But you should also consider your requisites. The samsung camera and camera app are usually better than the nexus ones and the S5 IP67 certification's surely really interesting. The nexus devices don't also have a replaceable battery and the sd card expansion slot. All considered I still prefer the nexus but a good, stock based, custom firmware'll do on the S5 :shifty: too.

wait for the Nexus 6 release; even if you don't buy it (and why not? cheap and high quality phone...) the prices of the competition are going under.

Well not announced but rumored

Then no offence OP, but the poll includes a choice that you can't base any facts on.

For all we know it might not happen or google decide to make it out of cheese. Its impossible to say anything other than wait for some solid info on N6 before making any decision. Or just go with what is available now otherwise you may be waiting for the always ever coming, next best thing

agreed all those specs posted on gsmarena, are merely rumors.

Switched from a long line of Samsung phones to the OnePlus and am very happy after 3 weeks.  My only minor gripe is that the camera isn't quite as good as my S4, but it is certainly capable.  The lack of carrier/manufacturer bloat is refreshing, to say the least and the performance and battery life is amazing.

my vote is for xperia z2 or z3 depending if z3 is available in your region right now. Xperia UI is very close to the clean android UI seen in xperia series with minimalist add-ons. Xperia also updates its added apps like the album, walkman etc seperately from the firmware update, so you will get them always even if your phone OS is no longer being updated by SONY.

there was a brilliant idea in this article.

wince it will have Android L  --      to call 5" version Nexus L and 6" version Nexus XL     --   not likely to happen, but it would have being pretty cool,  and people would have a choice for the next gen nexus, since i am never buying 6"  phone.

Can you give me the invitation?

If you can wait, then take the Nexus 6. Don't get me wrong, but if you want to have the first and latest android updates, then get this one. Samsung might be good in Hardware Specs, but they have some buggy updates.

For Hardware, LG G3, or yeah, Samsung S5 might be the one for you. Sony Xperia Z3 compact is one smartphone you might want to check.

If you're going for audio, then HTC M8 would be a good one. It has Beats Audio which is a nice turnaround when you're in a bad mood. You might like to invest with a good Earphones for quality.

If you're going for cameras, LG G3 for the OIS+, HTC M8 for their dual rear camera, with 4 uP (ultra pixel) and a manual settings. Another is the Sony Xperia Z3, the best option for this (if you want to want to invest and don't want to get a DSLR or Compact camera) is to use their NFC camera lens which is my favorite,

LG G3, or if its a little too big go for the Sony Xperia Z3 or Z3 Compact.

The Nexus 6 is a phablet, Samsung S5 comes with a lot of bloatware and touchwiz UI which I personally dislike. You can also root the phone to remove the bloatware and use your own launcher but even then I still prefer the LG G3 and Xperia Z3.
