2 friends picked up PS4's over the weekend and we've been unable to add each others requests now for nearly 2 days now. Not just me and them but fairly large group of us are having no success just an error message.  I thought it might of just been a problem that would of solved its self last night but no it hasn't. This is ending up with us having to send party invites manually and game invites manually to usernames and being a real pain in the ****ing ass over the weekend.

Is anyone else having these issues globally?  Or is this just an Australian issue? I can't find anything other then a few threads on offical playstation forums but they aren't acknowledging or providing any solutions for the problem making me think it isn't that wide spread.

Or if anyone else has this issue and has fixed it maybe? sign in/out does nothing. Cannot accept friends on the PSN app either or online, same error message.

I'm in Australia and having PSN issues too, quite a few times the PSN will just not load. Destiny would not play because I needed an update but the PSN was down or something and didn't think destiny needed an update.

Its getting kind of annoying now.

In Australia the PSN has always been slow, my PS3 is barely usable some days. Perhaps the open beta for ps now is slowing things down?

That's what I ended up assuming, It seems to have fixed its self now. PSN is usually slow but the weekend made it nearly unusable thrown in with the errors.

Ahhhh, think I can just load up a game when I get home from work after the weekend full of issues. No. Thought it might of just been Australia again but thankfully not just us.

If you can?t log on to Sony?s PlayStation Network, don?t worry, it?s not your internet or console that?s the problem. It seems PSN is down as of the moment; and there?s no planned maintenance scheduled today in case you?re wondering.

Unfortunately, though, the PSN outage is being experienced worldwide as we speak. Over on Reddit, users from the UK, US, Asia and other parts of the world have chimed in and confirmed that the network is not letting them go online. And here I thought it was my ?net connection that was the issue.

Trying to behave like a cool calm collected adult but this service has been ________ garbage for lack of a better word recently.

Everyone else down?

off topic, but related to PSN.  I'm thinking about finally buying a PS3 on black Friday this year and was wondering, if I got PS Plus, could I download the free PS4 games, just so they will show on the account, or can I only initiate the download from a PS4?

You can "buy them" so they'll add to your collection for when you get a PS4. Same for any Vita titles.

You won't be able to access PS4 games on the PS3 store.  You can, however, go online on your PC and access the PS store there and "buy" the PS+ games.  Then you can download them whenever you get a PS4 (assuming you keep PS+).

I've done this for a few Vita games should I ever buy one.

  • 4 weeks later...

Hmmm...All these PSN issues lately have me concerned, especially with GTAV releasing in a few weeks. Will PSN be able to handle millions of GTA Online players? I have my doubts

PSN has been so ###### since I got my PS4 Launch Day. Recently its been worse and I'm getting tired of it. If you don't believe me go look at @AskPlaystation. Its nothing but users bitching and moaning about PSN being down. I thought paying for it would make it reliable like Live but looks like sony doesnt know what the ###### they are doing still.

Im glad the next few months ill be spending it on my Xbox One because of COD and Halo. Hopefully by the time the destiny EXP comes out in December PSN will be fixed. I doubt it because they will use the Holiday Influx as an excuse for their tired ass broken system
