new pc build

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I was hoping if you could share some thoughts regarding my new pc that I'm currently planning to buy:

Graphics card: GIGABYTE VGA GV-R927OC-2GD 1.0 214 USD
CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 227 USD
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H97-HD3 1.0  110 USD
PSU: Zalman 500-LX PSU 500W 62 USD
HDD: Seagate HDD 1TB SATA3 64MB 75 USD
RAM: Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB DDRIII 1600MHz  53 USD
Case: ThermalTake COMMANDER MS-I 55 USD
DVD: LG GH24NS SATA Bulk Black 24x 20 USD
Monitor: LG 22M35A-B LED 138 USD

I'm wondering if that 500W PSU is enough for this build, or should I go for more expensive Zalman 600W?

Total amount is 954 USD which is in check with my budget (100USD). It's worth noting that I do not have that much experience with assembling PCs and I'm planning to do some light/moderate gaming at max 1920x1080 res. Also, those prices in USD are approximations since I'm from Southeastern Europe so don't be confused if the prices differ from your local prices.

Thank you so much!

Yeah, I'm planning to later add 4GB of RAM in order to keep in line with my current budget.

That graphics card requires 500W PSU at minimum. Is it okay to only satisfy the minimum requirement or should I go for more?

Any other thoughts? :)

This is kind off bull**** from GPU producer, they write this and thinks about noname PSU's with low efficiency, don't worry about that ;)

I don't know where you're buying but you're getting some terrible prices for these parts.

You can get an R9 270 for 160$ on newegg before MIR. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202090&cm_re=R9_270-_-14-202-090-_-Product

The i5-4440 currently goes for 195$. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116942&cm_re=i5-4440-_-19-116-942-_-Product

The motherboard you chose is 90$. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128731&cm_re=Gigabyte_GA-H97-HD3-_-13-128-731-_-Product

I'm pretty sure that with better prices you could fit 8GB of RAM and perhaps even an SSD in your budget (which alone makes a huge difference). Hunt for combo deals and special prices everywhere, not just newegg.
