Microsoft officially pulled back the curtains today on Windows 10 and with it, they are announcing many new features. For power users, as we had exclusively reported over the summer, virtual desktops will play a key role.
The feature launches from the task bar and is called Task View that, as you guessed, is just like virtual desktop functionality that has existed on other platforms for many years. This will make power users happy with the new functionality especially in situations where multi-monitor setups are not possible.
Another new feature is called Snap Assist (shown above) that builds on the snapping functionality that first made its debut with Windows 8. This new multi-view makes it easier with multiple desktops open to jump between apps and again is targeted at the power user.
These two features make it clear that Microsoft, at least with the desktop, is going back to its old ways and appeasing the power user with new features.
