Should I play Resident Evil 5 before playing Resident Evil 6?

Recommended Posts

I've bought both RE4 and RE6 on Steam.

They're both Steamworks games, so they have achievements.

I've nearly finished RE4 and I'm happy with the achievements I've gained.

RE5, whilst on Steam's store, will only become a Steamworks game in "early 2015".

I won't play through RE5 twice, so should I wait to play through it when it becomes a Steamworks game to get whatever achievements I get whilst playing through before playing RE6, or can I jump safely to RE6 now then go back to RE5 when it becomes a Steamworks game before playing through that?

IMO, you should begin at RE :P  man for frights RE2 can't be beaten IMO...  4-5-6 are basically FPSurvival,  great games, just not what made RE what it is.

QFT!

I don't think there is a great deal of tie over from RE4-5-6 in terms of story so I think you would be fine skipping one.

Can't help you since i did not play RE 5 but how is the RE 4 port on PC ? I would like to play this game again.

Initial releases had some performance issues, but were ironed out in further releases.

i don't think the 6 is connected much to 5,  as they are completely different.  so you can comeback to 5 whenever you want.

though 6 was a strange game to me.   it has even less resident evil soul then all the ones before it.   played like a completely different game altogether.

80% of the games I play are FPS games so it explains why I've really enjoyed RE4 :)

Right then lads, I'll play RE6 next, then jump back to RE5 when it's a Steamworks game (y)
