We have gone live with Early Access for Sorcerer King, a new Asymmetrical 4X.

A good explanation of the game is:

Think of the Sorcerer King as the evil mage who won the last traditional 4X game. He has already conquered the world. His enemies (including you) are scattered, their armies broken and cities torn down. His dark minions have free reign to terrorize the survivors everywhere except a few tiny outposts of civilization (like the one you start in) too insignificant to crush.

Obviously the Early Access version is but will the final release of this game be Steam ONLY as well?

Yes, it uses Steamworks.

Thanks for the response.  Is this the plan for all future Stardock games or does it just happen to be the case for Sorcerer King and GalCiv III?

It's probably safe to say all future games will be for the foreseeable future.

We have released Beta 3 for Sorcerer King today which brings the Priest and Commander sovereigns to the game. Of course, fixes and other fun things like lots of new content have also been included. :)

Full patch notes here.
