*Workaround* Front page comment edit duplication bug.

Recommended Posts

Refresh the page before editing a comment you just submitted

I think the bug occurs, if you make a comment and then turn around and edit without first refreshing the page. I've tried it and have not experienced any duplication.

Great if that works and thanks. Neowin doesn't seem to be in any hurry to fix the bug.

What if you don't turn around before editing? Does the bug still occur?

If you don't refresh the page before editing no matter how long you sit at that page, I think it will duplicate.

Yes, but the part where you turn around after commenting, doesn't that get a little tiring/dizzying?

Not true, this has been looked into a number of times and for some reason it's persistent!

Hmm just commented on the latest frontpage post and then edited my comment before refreshing the page, the comment did not duplicate.

I just did it without refreshing the page first and it errored out but didn't duplicate.

Any chance that the sorting bug will be fixed?  It's tiresome having to change it to oldest first every time I visit the front page.

Yes,

That's even worse than the duplicating post. That one I could care less about actually as it's not my fault, but the switching from newest to oldest is something EVERY forum on the net does and Neowin used too.

Agreed, it's a real pain!
