max22
Why does Amazon only stream for me at 480p ? My connection is 50 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload. I am trying to watch The Sopranos in HD. Netflix streams fine in HD. I just found this. http://gizmodo.com/5746738/is-amazon-finally-giving-free-unlimited-video-streaming-to-prime-subscribers but is limited to only streaming in 480p. What crap is that ?

That sucks. http://www.amazon.com/forum/amazon%20video%20on%20demand?_encoding=UTF8&cdForum=Fx3EQAX98ED5WQ3&cdThread=Tx32ANLTVTAIS4I Stupid if you ask me. Mathachew Veteran Posted October 10, 2014 Veteran Share Posted October 10, 2014 That article is nearly four years old. If that were the case then, it's certainly not today. TAZMINATOR 1 Share

+Zlip792 MVC Posted October 10, 2014 MVC Share Posted October 10, 2014 Firefox Install that Addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/user-agent-overrider/ Add Useragents from this wiki: https://github.com/muzuiget/user_agent_overrider/wiki Only add relevant device like iPhone, Amazon Kindle Useragent etc, which device you think gets 720p or above stream and try Amazon and let us know. If you cannot get any more than 480, then it might be the gfx card driver issue.. Try to update your gfx card driver and try again.. If not working, then get a new gfx card or a new PC. scr44py
I have the same issue but I know the cause of it. My PC plays only 480 because my GFX and monitor are connected by DisplayPort. Issue goes away whenever i change it to HDMI cable. Weird but works....Dunno though if thats the same case for you. +Zlip792 1 Share

Try it and let us know... - Another plausible reason could be MSE + EME support on Firefox and only basic profile support of H.264 through Open H.264. You should give Chrome try.
