Xbox One Media Player Preview + AVI choppy video

Recommended Posts

I don't know if anyone have this issue with media player preview. I'm playing an AVI file and the video is very choppy. I have no issue with the sound but when I play any video, I feel like the frame rate drop down to 10 frames per second. I test the files on my smart tv (SAMSUNG) and don't have this issue.

Is this a known issue?

More information...

What size is the AVI file?

Have you tried other AVI files?

Is it an old AVI encode?

Are all files having the same issues?

etc.... Never had any issues personally at all but still use my PS3/360 mainly because of DLNA support until the next xbox update anyway.

Only .avi files or all files?

I played .mkv files no issues, think I tried an .avi file as well and there was no issue, but I can specifically try one out and see.

It could just be the encoding of the .avi file though.

Are you delivering the avi file from a video streamer app that could have decided to do an on the fly format change ?
