tuckeratlarge
Just bought a new lappy and was just thinking, as I actually use it on me knee, would it not be a better placement for the trackpad to be on the right hand side - below the number pad? Nick H. Supervisor Posted October 12, 2014 Supervisor Share Posted October 12, 2014 If your laptop comes with a numberpad then yes, I imagine it would be a more suitable position to put it since your hands aren't resting there as often as the middle of the laptop. However, laptops don't normally come with numberpads from what I've seen. Also I notice that as I'm writing this reply I have the laptop on my lap, and my hands instinctively hover over the laptop rather than rest where they could touch the trackpad. +virtorio MVC Posted October 12, 2014 MVC Share Posted October 12, 2014 For me, the optional position of a trackpad is in the center of the main part of the keyboard (essentially underneath the spacebar) as you can access it without having to make major changes to the placement of your arm. primexx 1 Share
helpifIcan
I think the center is used to accommodate both right & left hand users. Just my 2 cents.
