Looking for a cheap graphics card for a non gaming pc

Recommended Posts

Depends on what your retailer has available.

Have a look at what's available and buy the best thing you can afford.

Failing that, work out what a minimum requirement for you is (honestly anything) and buy that.

I recently built a Media PC out of spare parts. Only thing I needed was a cheap GFX card with HDMI output (and fanless).

Best price/performance I found was this http://uk.msi.com/product/vga/N610GTMD2GD3HLP.html#hero-overview.

Cost me ?30 GBP. Comes with a Low profile bracket. Works perfectly for what I need.

Edit: the 610 range is just re-badged 520 so those will do aswell.

The G210 cards were released back in 2008-2009, it will be okay for non-gaming use.  Driver support down the line may be an issue with newer OS's, depends on if Nvidia support older chipsets with new drivers.

I have the GeForce GT 610 and it works great for video, and for the few games I play (Asphalt 8, etc.)
