Setting up Cisco CTL

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to setup IP Phone/ CTI Security on a Cisco Unified Call Manager and the documentation on this gets a little vague in area's and I'm getting stuck in one specific area.

From what I understand, to enable a secure TAPI/TSP connection I need CAPF setup and working. To do this fully I need CTL setup and working. CTL is configured via the CTL client, available from the plug-ins menu however on trying to install this it is prompting for a "security token" which is where I am getting stuck.

It seems that pre version 7.1.5 this used to be a physical USB etoken that you would need to purchase and plug-in to the machine with the CTL client running however If I am understanding an End Of Life statement this appears to be have switched out for software.

However according to the website I should be able to download this from Cisco.com but I am really struggling to find this.

No knowledge of Cisco CTL but I did come across this, not sure if it's of any use; http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/csa_token_ids/sec_tkn.html

Ignore, not what you are looking for.

You're actually pretty close to being on the money, this is the new replacement for the old USB keys, or at least what I believe to be true. However it seems the tool itself is installed when you install the CTL Client itself but still not really any further forward.

I've been put in touch with some people at Cisco so hopefully on the right track to get this sorted but their documentation on this is shocking. I've probably had to use 3 or 4 different documents to get where I am (which isn't very far).
