Suicide Squad

It's still early days for Suicide Squad (the script is still being worked on, so don't take those roster reports too seriously just yet), but Warner Bros. are already offering some of the lead roles to A-List actors. As well as courting Ryan Gosling - which you can read about by clicking here - The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Will Smith (I Am Legend), Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) and Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises). There's no word on which characters they may end up playing, but fans on Twitter are suggesting Robbie for the role of Harley Quinn, and that sounds just all sorts of perfect, wouldn't you say? Regardless, the fact that the studio are looking at this sort of talent shows that they're taking their DC Comics slate very seriously. Marvel just got some competition in the casting department!

It's probably best you forget that universe ;) :p

This is why Marvel is sucessfull compared to DC. Too many recasts of too many characters. Marvel only had 1. Banner.

Jared Leto May Join ?Suicide Squad? as the Joker

The Wrap reports that Leto is ?circling a key role in David Ayer?s ?Suicide Squad? that could prove to be The Joker.?

(The report mentions that Ryan Gosling was the first choice to play the Joker, but that he wasn?t game for the contract required.)

Leto hasn?t signed to a new role since winning the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Dallas Buyer?s Club, and he was in pursuit of the leading role in Doctor Strange for some time. That didn?t happen (Benedict Cumberbatch is linked to the part, though Marvel has yet to formally announce him) and the Wrap says that prompted Leto to move over to Warner Bros.

Justin Marks wrote the original draft of Suicide Squad, but David Ayer is rewriting the picture, which is set for release on August 5, 2016. In the original draft the Joker did not have a role, but there have been rumors that Cara Delevingne will play Harley Quinn in the film, and that character is intrinsically linked to the Joker. Ayer?s draft is reported to introduce the character to this new conception of the DC universe on film.

SUICIDE SQUAD Shooting Details; Jared Leto Now Said To Be In "Final" Talks

The Hollywood Reporter have a brief update about the current status of David Ayer's Suicide Squad, and reveal that the plan is to shoot the DC Comics adaptation in Toronto. With a working title of "Bravo 14", pre-production is set to begin in February at Pinewood Toronto Studios. Filming itself will apparently take place in and around Toronto from mid-April to September. Exciting times! The site also adds that Jai Courtney, Tom Hardy, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto are "in the final stages of talks for roles" and add that "Colin Wilson is producing." If IMDb is to be believed, Fury's Roman Vasyanov will serve as cinematographer and Kate Hawley (Edge of Tomorrow) is going to be the movie's costume designer.

Viola Davis Cast as Amanda Waller in Suicide Squad

Two weeks ago, Warner Bros. revealed their version of Task Force X for the big screen adaptation of Suicide Squad. A few factors remained up in the air, like who would be playing the woman at the center of it all, Amanda Waller. It was reported at the time that three names (including Octavia Spencer and Oprah Winfrey) were in contention, and now Latino Review reports that Viola Davis has landed the role of

Such a bummer that he had to drop out but I think that Jake Gyllenhaal is a great replacement!

Tom Hardy May Have Left SUICIDE SQUAD Because It Focuses On 'Deadshot' And 'The Joker'

Apparently, he just wasn't a fan of the script, and he left the project under amicable terms (which is why the scheduling conflict excuse was used as a cover story). Why didn't he like it? It could be for any number of reasons, but the site goes on to add that the latest draft is rumoured to have beefed up the screen time of Deadshot (Will Smith) and The Joker (Jared Leto) at the expense of characters like Flagg. Given the status of Smith and the popularity of The Joker, that makes sense!

But Eric Bana Hulk isn't part of the MCU. Neither is Spiderman .. not part of the MCU (well I mean before the Sony lending rights back to Marvel thing)
