Mindovermaster Moderator Posted October 16, 2014 Moderator Share Posted October 16, 2014 I've been using Wheezy too long, and I want Steam on, but all i see are legit ways with Jessie. But when i install Jessie (directly from Debian) on my spare SSD, I get a blank screen after install. Not sure what it is. But I decided to try the SSD on my laptop. Bang, shot like a gun. Tried it on my desktop, nothing. There's something blocking it, I know. As to what, you have any ideas?
TheGhostWalker
The next release of Debian, Jessie, is not on stable yet. What you could do is install SteamOS, this comes from Valve and supports steam. It is a package from Valve on top of Debian. simonlang
might be some hardware compatibility issue you are facing. why not running any new ubuntu based distro they support steam out of the box
Mindovermaster Moderator Posted October 17, 2014 Author Moderator Share Posted October 17, 2014 I hate Ubuntu with a passion. I found out last night, that Jessie doesn't like/use fglrx drivers. So, it could be my Ati HD7850. Yet, it works fine on my laptop. (in sig) So, Alas. Might try SteamOS. Think that's Debian based, right?
