Outlook.com functionality

Recommended Posts

So I switched from Google to Microsoft as my main platform from the end of last year. I'm struggling to find a few key features that are either stupidly well hidden, or completely missing.

1. Searching for Calendar Entries in Outlook.com. Surely there has to be a way to do this? I know Google have this feature on their web UI, but it's gone awol for Microsoft.

2. Syncing calendar entries from Outlook 2013 to Outlook.com. So you pay up for the Office suite and a Lumia, and set up Outlook 2013 to connect to your Outlook.com account. Mail syncs perfectly, but calendar entries are utterly dysfunctional, with no real rhyme or reason behind their syncing / not syncing to Outlook.com or your Lumia. Is there something I'm missing here or is this broken either by design or lack of review? The following thread seems to points to some of the key issues ;

I'd really like to stay with MS, I love their phone platform and it integrates perfectly into the desktop OS, but not having something as simple as schedule syncing working effectively is a huge dealbreaker. That it's been broken for over a year is a worry. Is this simply being ignored because a new (more functional) mail client is on the way?
