ACTIONpack Posted October 19, 2014 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Smartphone is mostly a close system that can't be updated unless the carrier or manufacturer decides to update the firmware or the OS. Apple which does the best job by updating the firmware and OS for at least 3 generations back when Microsoft will update OS with developers preview and may update most firmware and is for one year. Google which does the worst out of the rest does the worst by most likely not update the OS or unless the phone maker does it or rooting it.
