Vodafone New Zealand has joined O2 in UK in rolling out the Windows Phone 8.1/Lumia Denim update.

The update brings folders, VPN, Cortana and more, while Lumia Denim brings new camera algorithms and more.

See the official Update 1 changelog here.

Sounds like 8.1.1 is RTM and slowly going out to phones,  don't know who'll be next but this is a good sign.

Vodafone is the one who gives you support for your phone directly, when something goes wrong, when you're under contract.  This is why they also push updates out or block them, they also test iPhone updates, don't think they don't, but because of the deals in place with apple they can't block them.   That's just how it works and how it is for now due to the massive success of the iPhone.

For all the market share gains Android has even google can't get the same treatment that apple does when it comes to updates, let alone MS.   The update does come from MS, it's from their servers, Vodafone just gives the final green light.
