Roku expands with more content from Google Play, free "Gift from Google" title every week

Roku debuted its first player nearly six years ago in 2008. While many competitors have released similar products, what differentiates Roku from most, if not all, is the content. Roku allows users to access the most content out of any other steaming box on the market - and if the current range wasn't already enough, Roku will now be adding Google Play as a content provider.

Interestingly, it looks like Google will offer users a bit of an incentive to fire up the application on their Roku week after week in the form of regular freebies. The "Gift from Google" section in the Google Play channel will offer a free title, every week. For this week, the title is the original X-Men movie that was released in 2000.

It will be available both to new and current users; all you have to do is sign in to take advantage of the free weekly title. The Google Play experience will be available on all current Roku devices and will be accessible in the U.S., U.K., Ireland and Canada.
