Fed up of Chrome losing my open tabs every 4-6 weeks

Recommended Posts

I know I'm not the only one experiencing this simply because I've had 3 Android phones (S III, S4 and S5) since this bug began occuring (at least since early 2013 - must have been earlier but I only switched to Android in 2013) and plenty of Android/Chrome versions during the past 1.5 years.

I'll open the app like normal and instead of there being a number (the amount of tabs) surrounded by a square, it will be a blank square. So I'll force-close the app and re-open and it only remembers my most recent tab!

Highly frustrating, as I use tabs as a "to read". Don't judge this method, it's how I like to do things. It's how I keep on top.

Any idea how to stop this bug? (I'll get highly frustrated if people say it's only me, it's fact that it's not because of the variations in device etc. I've used. I hate the "it must be your phone" (etc.) mentality, it's quite rife on these forums)

Do all the tabs appear if you wait until after current tab has loaded?

You might have to wait about 10-15 seconds.

If they do appear, it's a Chrome feature (delay loading background tabs).

Not sure how to disable it though although you might be able to access about:flags.
