+longgonebn Subscriber² Posted November 9, 2014 Subscriber² Share Posted November 9, 2014 So I have been a long time Nova Launcher user. I used it because it would give me a Stock Android setup, but with customization. Now with 5.0, it seems to change it too much, and make it feel like 4.0. It basically removes some of the nice 5.0 features and animations. Anyone have a recommendation on a launcher that leaves its alone, but allows as much customization possible? **for example, love the 5.0 animations, love the 5.0 app drawer (though wish I could edit, hide apps, and make it more transparent. blerk
Wait a week or two and I'd bet that Nova integrates better with 5.0. Brandon H 1 Share
TAZMINATOR
^ What he said. Just wait until an update from Nova and you will have new features for 5.0...
+longgonebn Subscriber² Posted November 9, 2014 Author Subscriber² Share Posted November 9, 2014 Hmm OK. I don't know why but I had a feeling they already did, their last update was not that long ago...and there are some lollipop features within it.. Though ok :)
link6155
Same as what other says, just wait for them to update. If you don't want to wait, just get the Google Now Launcher with Xposed GEL settings (root users only). This will give you the stock Android L experience, but also let's you tweak just like Nova Launcher. Hmm OK. Though ok :) Nova doesn't usually just roll things out all at once. They're not just going to add in Android Lollipop icons and then forget about the rest of Material design. dragontology
Nova now has the cards-based drawer of the basic 5.0 launcher; however, it feels like it would be better in black. Black cards on top of my wallpaper in the background. White is too bright. Nova (and Apex) really jumped on the ICS launcher and made a premium version. I wonder if they will adapt, or if a couple new launcher kings emerged. I paid full price for both Nova and Apex (and Holo, which ran on Gingerbread, let's not forget that one) and I would probably pay for a new launcher if it rose to the top and I thought it was better than Nova. Or, you know, Google could buy out the XGELS people, make a premium Google Now Launcher, and either charge for it, or give it away, but if they implemented XGELS without Xposed, I might buy it. dragontology
You can change the background color of the cards in Nova. Nova Settings > Drawer > Background > choose any color you'd like Thank you for letting me know. I'm sure this was just added as I looked before. From beta 1 to beta 3 maybe it was added. Or perhaps I simply overlooked it. Either way, thank you for the instruction.
