Yes, but... All these people always reference what something SUPPOSEDLY means if you change it enough to reference Hebrew.  Why Hebrew?  The Jesus character would have spoken Aramaic - not that that is even relevant either.

The number of the beast is "666" (six hundred sixty six), NOT "6 6 6" (six six six) according to the Bible (Rev. 13:18).

And during the time of Christ, the known number system was: Greek, Latin (Roman numerals), and Hebrew. These languages did not have Arabic number system (1,2,3, etc), their numbering system was attaching numerical value to their alphabet letters. For example: alpha will be "1", beta will be "2" etc... So even in Hebrew/Aramaic language, certain values were attached to their  letters. She is right in saying that "wav" is 6, but she is clearly wrong calling "wav, wav, wav" six hundred sixty six, because, in Hebrew alphabet, there are letters for 500, 100, 50, 10, etc... So every name has a numerical value. "Jesus" in Greek is "888" (eight hundred eighty eight.)

This is called, "gematria."

I follow what you post (and thanks for a really interesting read), but it still only goes to show that she is wholly clutching at straws?

Yes, she is definitely making Gematria look bad. She is also making "the number of the beast" a slight. Most Christians would not take her seriously.

Sweet lord we have a winner right here... EXACTLY!!!!

People throw around who or what "the devil" is and each time they attribute that to something of such trivia, it diminishes what it actually stands for!  Thus those who seek to stand against "the devil" with such arguments weaken the actual cause.

(point: I am only assuming "the devil" is real for the case of the argument, I make no claims as to my own beliefs)

Well actually similar thing has happened in Poland http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/poland/9472340/Demon-energy-drink-can-promote-evil.html Darski gets cheap marketing and Catholic bigotes screams about attack on their lifestyle, the decline of catholic/western/polish/patriotic (pick one or two for better effect) civilization which also gives them fuel for living - but that's not so hard in my country tbh blergh.

To bad gematria is about as real as horoscopes and the devils number may also be 616 or 999 or...
