Is it worth pre-ordering games anymore?

I preordered games when they actually used to run out of games at stores. That's not the case anymore. I want to say the last game I really preordered was Halo 4 and that was because I wanted to play it that night and I "preordered" it the day before (basically at 5pm in gamestop so I can come in at 10pm to wait in line to play). I used to never preorder games. Now I'm all digital (I don't care about trading, I try to get games that will last long enough for me to play years down the road) so there's really no incentive for me to preorder at a store...but predownloading/preorder digital is worth it just to get that 12am unlock so I can play the game that I'm hyped for, but I'm not stressing.
