Defra said there is at least one case of the virus at the farm - but insisted the risk to public health is "very low". We shouldn't be entirely indifferent to, or complacent about, things like bird or swine flu, but if the media had their way we'd be quivering so violently we'd never leave our homes. roguekiller23231 Posted November 18, 2014 Share Posted November 18, 2014 the strain they found is not contractable by humans. it's just so you have to pay double for your Christmas turkey/goose or what ever you going to have. the strain that the media were scaremongering was the H5N1 strain, which killed around 400 people world wide, which is pretty much nothing considering there are over 7 billion people in the world and deaths associated with a normal strain of the flu virus is around 50,000 a year. don't believe media hype, scare more people, more drugs sold, more injections given and more money made by people who make those drugs and administer them.
