Is it time for a new router?

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys!

I've a Tplink TL-1043ND v1 router that has been giving me some headaches lately.
For a couple of years worked great but a few months ago started to crash 3 or 4 times a day, so I went to the website of tplink and found a new firmware. I installed it, for a couple of weeks worked well but then again started to crash at least once a day.
I've tried factory reset, to no avail. The only thing that works it's restarting it.
Any ideas? Or should I get a new router?

I would replace it what is your budget? If nothing than if you got an older PC convert it to an Untangle or PFsense box or  if you do have 80-300 either get a cisco small biz or a watchguard firebox T10/Z10 or a Meraki Z1.

I ahve a Meraki Z1 alot with a few other APs of versious types and it's been really cool. Beats the crap outta consumer routers which I've given up on. Not had good luck with those lately. Crap firmware and crap support. :(

or you cna go for a Ubiquity ERL those I hear are good...
