Craigslist deal: too good to be true? (Surface Pro 3)

Recommended Posts

There's somebody on Craigslist selling a month old Surface Pro 3 (256GB / Intel Core i5) with Type Cover for $850.

Is this a deal too good to be true?

I dont think so, I think the price is accurate - unless its a mac, the value drops like a car once you bring the laptop/desktop/tablet home.

Whats the post ?

Any pics ?

In fact, I would say $800 would be better.

Surface Pro 3 - 256GB / i5 @ 1.9GHz

Used 5 times about 1 month old, includes Pro Type Cover in purple as seen in photo, Logitech - T630 Ultrathin Optical Touch Mouse and 1 year of Office 365, charger etc. Will not last long at this price....first one with cash.....I will not hold this.

I can drive down there no problem.

$1430 - $850 = $580 off?

At $850 for a 256GB SP3? Its a good deal.

Have you ask the owner why he/she is selling it? defective, Buyers remorse?

If they want meet in a isolated area to make a transaction, than my advice to you is avoid it.

Yeah, a lot of people are getting rid of things they dont need to have extra $$ for XMAS.  I say get it.

I wonder if warranty is transferable ?

Meet him in a public place, (I always do Starbucks for CL transactions)

:ninja: can you pull any metadata off his pic to find out where his house is ? (in case deal goes bad)  :ninja:

assuming that pic was his house

What I've done in the past is to meet someone at a dorm right under a security camera.  I am assuming that if something is stolen, the thief wouldn't want to be caught selling it on camera.

There's no metadata on the picture.
