+John Teacake MVC Posted November 22, 2014 MVC Share Posted November 22, 2014 Hey All, So I have been invited to Beta test some cloud offerings from a relatively large hosting company. I have logged in and been mucking around with the server setups etc. Whilst this is in Beta its free of charge to me. I have a Linux VM sat here but the thing is I don't know what I can do with it. Any suggestions and I will do it. I am currently asking if there AUP would be OK with me running a TOR exit node. Suggestions? Maybe we could get some tests going with other Neowin users. It has a UK IP so maybe if anyone wants to help me set up a proxy to test things with PM Me. They recon the beta will last till the end of December. +John Teacake MVC Posted November 22, 2014 Author MVC Share Posted November 22, 2014 how much space does it come with, setup your own cloud like owncloud or something. See I have all that stuff elsewhere thats the trouble, I have one configured with only 20gb at the min I am playing with but I can increase it. I will help out if you want pm me and let me know what you wanna do :) Cool! Ok well lets see if anyone comes up with some novel things to do with it. I want to try a Tor exit note but never really wanted the chew that comes along with it. Maybe we could set up a Proxy for people to access stuff. That might be quite cool. Maybe some nice monitoring as well so we can see what people are trying to access.

+BudMan MVC Posted November 23, 2014 MVC Share Posted November 23, 2014 whats always fun is honeypot.. I ran one of my vps as that for a while.. Fun to watch what they do. But went back to just using it as test box when I need it and vpn if I need traffic to come from that part of the US, I can query dns from it or with it, etc. its a $15 lowend vps - its great to just have a shell, vpn, etc.
