Red delicious are such a bait n' switch.

Red delicious and golden delicious are such a disappointment.  Not sure how they even got "delicious" in the name?

For those who say Honeycrisp, where are the ones you get grown?  The original from Minnesota (Developed at the UoM) is still the best.  Washington Honeycrisp taste nothing like it.  Michigan's are close but still not quite.  Out of the US ones are not even remotely decent. (AFAIK there's only Nova Scotia and New Zealand)

The Sweetango is also good when its new in season too.  (Cross between Honeycrips and Zestar).  Also developed at UoM but unlike the Honeycrisp it has exclusivity and/or now it just has to be certified by Pepin Heights or the UoM Regents.

I also like the Jazz Apple and Braeburns.  Starting to not like Braeburns as much as I used to though.

We can get Minn. grown, or of course Mich. grown Honeycrisp since we live there, but one of our area orchards does a great job with them. Better than the average Mich. Honeycrisp.

Of course this state is overgrown with orchards - about 1.37 billion pounds of apples this year.
