interesting to sumerise the history of playstation like this.

I have been a PS gamer ever since the 1st console was launched, i remember reading about it and the sega saturn in the back pages of the ZX Spectrum mags and when the supposed snes CD add on was talked about in superplay. all them years ago, the graphics are a little it mehh these days on the current consoles and i dont think there will ever be anything jawdroping like there was going from 8/16 bit consoles to the power that the 32bit PS brought to the table

The logo concepts and the original grey PlayStation concept (with cube logo) were news to me (oh, and Shuhei Yoshida getting banned twice from Miiverse ).

I would say this was fair for the first half of the PS3 generation, but what have they done that badly with the PS4?  :/

I was going to post the same thing.

I think the PS4 is going along swimmingly, even better than Sony expected.

The messaging system, the friend requests, the lack of features (multimedia) not to mention the bugs it had with sleep mode and sometimes, when playing a digital copy of a game, and not having a disc inserted, the loader keeps trying to 'eject', and will not allow the loading of a disc

Don't get me wrong, I'm not an xbox fanboy, I really like my ps3 and ps4, but as a day 1 adopter, I've become less than impressed with the rate the 'features' are getting released to their new flagship

Sales wise? Yes.

Bugs, Updates, Games, PSN wise but? No.

They've been coasting on Microsofts failure for awhile now.

They'll never be as good as MS on the software side of things, although personally right now I prefer the design of the PS4 OS over the XB1. As an early adopter of the PS3 I can at least say the PS4 OS out of the door was about a million times better than the PS3.

Also for as flaky as they've been with some features, they do have a better share/recording setup than MS and shareplay is a neat addition.

DLNA should be with us in the next few months.

What an awesome machine for its day:

It sure was, but the cd drive wore out quickly on some of the early launch models. But that might have been due to all the diskswapping to run the NTSC games on a PAL playstaton.
