Mockingbird
Microsoft has already demo Continuum feature here: http://www.theverge.com/2014/9/30/6873963/windows-10-continuum-touch-interface The video show Windows 10 entering and leaving tablet mode depending on whether or not the keyboard is attached. What I am wonder is how this works with devices like the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro. Is Windows 10 going to be detect when the hinge is bend back and enter tablet mode? George P Global Moderator Posted December 4, 2014 Global Moderator Share Posted December 4, 2014 It could, I'm pretty sure there's a sensor used so that when you turn it all the way the keyboard locks or turns off. So I figure it'll work just fine as long as it can tell the device changed.
Mockingbird
I am guessing that the drivers will tell Windows which mode they should be in.
DeadEndAccount
From what I understand it has something to do with the firmware and the ACPI drive that vendors provide. It is very much up to the OEM itself whether it allows the sort of auto-detect of which mode it is in.
Vigilant
I'd imagine that there would be a setting to let you choose one mode over another as default. Hardware support for mode switching will probably vary on hardware support and drivers provided by the vendor. I'd imagine Surace and HP will have good support. Likely Dell would not support it on fewer laptops. That's all speculation though. We should know more in a month.
