25 Invisible Benefits of Gaming While Male

Recommended Posts

Well, as my wife used to be a wow raider, and her raiding buddies knew this because of ventrilo, some of those points I'm going to call BS on, I happen to be in a raiding team in destiny, and one titan and hunter are women players, who have stated that some feminists are out of touch of some 'girl gamers'

But this argument will continue as long as busy bodies with nothing better to do, continue to make noise...

Send em back to the kitchen and tell them to cook something I say :p

/sexist joke

Gaming is for everyone. If you think your colour, your gender, your sexuality, your religion (or lack thereof), your ethnicity or any other random ######ing thing that humanity has been mindlessly squabbling over for the last few thousand years has anything to do with anything, then you're an idiot.

I think it sucks that girls have their gaming cred questioned all the time. Gaming was considered a guy thing, and it sure as ###### wasn't considered cool. Maybe that is part of the isues.

I think there's a difference between "girl gamers" and gamers who happen to be female. And I think the former contribute to and are largely affected by this problem. My wife is a gamer who happens to be female, and she was once (technically still is, but they dropped her division) part of an all-girl gaming guild. She's made friends through that, and beyond simple extension, so have I. I know women and girls who play video games, and they aren't affected by this. They're as okay playing male roles in games as I am in playing female roles. I'm not going to say, "Oh my god, I absolutely cannot play Tomb Raider, you can't be a boy." In Skyrim, I play female characters because there's a benefit to doing so. A perk that allows 10% better prices with the opposite sex, and most of the blacksmiths are male. It's strictly a gaming choice. In Mass Effect I chose the male Shepard, but only after asking if there was a benefit either way. I was told there wasn't, so I went with the default. If the default had been "FemShep," I might have chosen that. In Saints Row 4, I chose the female hero because I like the voice actor (Laura Bailey

I have never seen anything like this in playing wow for 7 years now. I am sure it happens with the younger kids though. We have a strict rule in our guild... no kids. (<21)

I think the original video is terrible. One my closest friends is female and enjoys playing videos. We've been playing games together for around 10 years now and I've never seen her be discriminated against in any way because of her gender. Nor has she ever told me she's been harassed in any way because of it, as well.

That being said I am not oblivious to how the internet works and I know that my experience (and hers) is not the experience of every one. I just think that people are making an issue out of literally nothing. Non-issue is a non-issue.

Girls are not being discriminated against. Whiny girls are being discriminated against, and for a good reason. We had many girls in my previou WoW guild, and we all played together. In my current guild after switching servers, the GM is a female and there are several other females in the guild and gender discrimination never comes up. Even if we joke about males vs females in the guild chat or whatever, both the males and the females know what planet they live on.

Do they really?  Ya? All the time?

The creator of this video is quite the character.  If you want a shining example of these 'invisible' radical feminist, it would be him.   I have to bring this up, especially with you, that if you think the radical feminists/feminism with twisted/crazed ideologies are off in some deep corner of tumblr ranting away, that they are so insignificantly small in number with absolutely zero vocal visibility which affects no one, you sir, are very wrong.

The problem is that the creator of the video isn't so invisible anymore. In fact she's very very visible and for all the wrong reasons.

The most ironic and funny part is that she's on record for saying games are "gross". But we're supposed to take the things she says about gaming seriously.

She is a perfect example of everything she's claiming is wrong with the male dominated gaming culture.

This video is actually done by Jonathan McIntosh.  Well, he writes and produces all her videos but in this one, he makes it his own.
