+BudMan MVC Posted December 6, 2014 MVC Share Posted December 6, 2014 And what did you want to do with such a depreciated command? diskpart is how you can create partitions from cmd line. fdisk has been gone since atleast windows 7. Jim K Global Moderator Posted December 6, 2014 Global Moderator Share Posted December 6, 2014 Hi Can anybody tell me why fdisk no longer appears in W10 TP? Thanks It hasn't been around since Windows ME/2000 (FAT16 and FAT32). Fdisk doesn't recognize NTFS logical/extended partitions and was replaced with diskpart/disk management with the release of XP. neufuse Veteran Posted December 6, 2014 Veteran Share Posted December 6, 2014 why would you want to even touch FDISK when diskpart is so much better?
Kazama Levi
If you want to partition your harddisks before installing Windows, or without access to an installed Windows, you can use GParted. +E.Worm Jimmy and Aergan 2 Share
cooky560 Veteran Posted January 9, 2015 Veteran Share Posted January 9, 2015 As people have said, Fdisk is long gone, you can use Diskpart, or the GUI MMC Snap-in "Disk Management"
