Gerowen
So recently (past couple of weeks) I've noticed a new and rather serious issue with Google Chrome on Linux. I've been using Google Chrome for years with no major issues. It seems however that lately it takes up more and more memory the longer you leave it open. Here's a scenario. I'm browsing, got 5 or 6 tabs open, and it's time to go to work or run down the road, so I just leave the browser window open so I can hit it when I come back. If I do this, leave Chrome open with a couple of tabs open for a half hour or so, it's nearly un-useable when I come back. It slows the whole system down to the point that I have to CTRL+ALT+F1 to get into a terminal and kill the process that way. The websites themselves aren't anything shady; Facebook, Neowin, Wikia, etc. I've been using Firefox today and have left it open in a similar manner and no problems yet. Anybody else notice this new issue with Google Chrome? I'm gonna try deleting my cache and see if that is the issue, but I was just wondering if this is something any of you have experienced lately. Anibal P
What extensions are you using? Something is constantly pinging a server or something and eating memory, as per usual disable all extensions and turn them on one at a time to find the culprit
