Xbox One TV signal lost

Recommended Posts

I have my XB1 connected with my DirecTV box and every single time I turn the TV on or go to my TV activity, I get an XB1 message that my TV signal was lost. I always have to play around with the directv box power in order to get it displaying a picture. Is there any fix for this? It's extremely annoying.

This happens when I power everything on or switch from another input. The DirecTV box is off. I tried setting my display preference to HDMI instead of Auto but it didn't fix anything. I wonder if I can solve it by just having it leave the DirecTV box on all the time.

Agreed with the above, your TV box may be going in to power saver mode if it's not actively being watched. Try testing this out by turning off any power saving features and see if it continues.

I would try leaving the box on. The cable box I have been testing with is on all the time, so that could be the culprit here. The whole hdmi handshake step that has to happen between the X1 and any external device can get messed up when that device goes to sleep. The device wakes up, but doesn't retry the handshake step in order for the X1 to see it.
